Why selecting the right company size is important

First of all – any self-test (yes, that includes ours!) is a serious generalisation and everyone will have their own preferences and many exceptions may apply to your personal situation. Hence, the outcome might be the best fit for you, but it doesn’t mean it always is the truth.

Secondly, one size doesn’t fit all. Pun intended. Each and everyone has to make a decision aligned to their own long-term success plan by doing a trade-off exercise. This exercise will most likely look at different resources linked to different company sizes and your personal needs.

Larger companies tend to come with more resources, which means more security, more training, more short-term benefits and more internal mobility. But they also come at the cost of less flexibility and less potential accelerated growth in the long run.

One needs to map out their needs, their desire, and how the different resources would be a good fit.

Different sizes come with different resources which need to be aligned to your needs

Lastly, companies are not one exclusive size. Keep in mind teams and departments within companies might operate in a completely different cultural setting and resources might be different. Someone working on Oculus at Meta has potentially a very different experience than someone working in Facebook Advertisements.
